Detox Juicing – Our Latest Adventure!

When I was a young teenager, my mom had a big red juicer where she made carrot, apple, and beet juice in the afternoons. Even though I didn’t enjoy eating raw beets or carrots, the colorful and aromatic juice that came out of this machine was too tempting not to try it. Once I did, I was hooked and started making it myself. I particularly liked the fact that I could share the experience with my adored dog, who salivated over the equally colorful fiber from the fruits and veggies that was left stuck to the juicer’s inner walls. It was a win win win situation: we all enjoyed it, had fun and spent quality time together while doing it, and if this wasn’t good enough, we were extremely well nourished.

Fast forward about 15 years, and here I am, an adult woman, drinking a large glass of fresh green juice every single morning as soon as I wake up. This is an important part of my daily morning ritual, and I usually describe what I feel when I drink the bright green liquid as a pleasurable tingle throughout my body, almost as if every cell in my body is vibrating with health and joy. I will forever be grateful to my mom for introducing me to this healthy habit way before it became the trend (a very positive trend!) it is today. Juicing has brought so much to our lives, including good health, a very stable weight, and younger looking skin. So you can all imagine how thrilled we were to be presented with the opportunity to share this passion of ours in a book with all of you!
