Originalmente el tacacho es un plato que se disfruta como desayuno en los pueblos de la selva amazónica. Los nativos asan o hierven los plátanos verdes y, después de pelarlos los amasan en un mortero enorme de madera, agregan sal y pequeños trozos de chicharrón -y harta manteca de cerdo-. La textura de esta masa debe ser lo suficientemente firme como para formar una bola (del tamaño de una pelota de beisbol) con las manos. Y con esto ya está listo.

I have also discovered that if you use ripe plantains for your banana nut breads, it gives it a very smooth flavor. Very delicious. Gotta go, Breakfast soup is ready! Chow!
